Eglinton Caravans Track Record
Established in 1975, Eglinton Caravans celebrates its' 35th year in business during 2010 From 1975 until 1982
the company was a successful Sprite dealership. From 1982 to 1987 the company
changed direction, concentrating on used
caravan sales exclusively. The current owners Mary and Bill Lymburn
purchased the company as a going concern in 1987. In 1988 the then new owners took
on the Compass dealership, which they hold to this day, making
Eglinton the longest serving Compass dealer in Scotland.
Adding further brands in 1989 enabled Eglinton to establish a successful
niche for itself in the West of Scotland. By 1991 the level of
business had increased dramatically and the existing premises were bursting at the
seams. The current premises were purchased then, which provided much larger display
areas, workshop and accessory shop. By 1997 the brand line-up included Coachman
and Elddis and when Explorer Group was launched
Eglinton went with them. But nothing stands still and when
Coachman extracted itself from Explorer Group the
opportunity arose to look again at other brands. At the end of 2008 we introduced
the
full range of Bailey Caravans as one of Brands. Eglinton believe
that it compliments the rest of their product line-up admirably and that they have
a display to be proud of. Alongside their new caravan sales, Eglinton
has built up a fine reputation for it's pre-owned tourer sales.
All used vehicles go through a comprehensive inspection and selection process before
they are offered for retail sale and when sold carry a comprehensive 12 months parts
and labour warranty, which can be extended at a small charge, by the buyer to 36
months. This policy has resulted in many happy customers and a lot of repeat business.
To help cope with the increased levels of business Eglinton have
been experiencing, they have recruited two of the next generation of Lymburns' into
the organisation in the form of Bruce as General Manager, and his partner Michelle
as Accessory Shop Manager.
